Blur Image Bank

This is the first image chosen to display the Blur technique. As the subject is very sharp, yet the pavement/road is blurry, you can sense the movement of this person. The editing of black and white is good edition to this image because nothing is taking away the audiences attention of movement. This image has a denotation of a person skateboarding down the road. Yet the photographer has included the punctum of dirty shoes which can lead to a connotation and story of a person in a rush to get away from someone. The studium of this image is the simplicity- not a lot is thrown in this image, alongside this the subjects legs and skateboard is positioned in the center, which is a good aspect of the image because the audience almost feels as if they are on the skateboard themselves.

This image was picked to show blur due to the pure lack of movement in this image. The only part of this image which has a slight blur is the subject on top of a wall. This image has a denotation of someone- stereo-typically a teenager, walking on a wall with graffiti. However the use of thirds here is really important in forming a connotation because it goes from 1/3 to a half of the image being the graffiti wall. With the graffiti being the punctum, it forms an implied meaning that this subject was originally sat up on the wall graffiting the top part, but then someone was shouting at him- thus making him get up and run. The studium, much like the image above is the black and white editing because the graffiti is still dominant, but would take too much of the attention if the colour was shown.
This image shows blur due to the motion of the surrounding public. There is one dominate subject in this image as they are in the center of this photo and is not moving, whereas everyone else is a bit blurred out but are still picked up by the audience. This image is different in comparison to the other images picked due to it being in colour. Even though the black and white effect is really intriguing, this single image being in colour is also a studium because it makes it seem more "hectic"- thus leading onto the connotation of this image being a man who is in London but is lost, thus why he is looking at his phone whilst everyone is walking around him- not even noticing his exsistence.
This image shows blur due to the movement of the cyclist and this technique here is made clear due to the lack of movement of the surroundings- everything else in this image is still and sharp, all expect the subject. This image has a denotation of a subject riding through a tunnel on a bike. However the punctum of the row of bikes creates the studium of the connotation because it holds an implied meaning that even though this subject is riding towards the camera, they already have a bike so they would have picked one at the beginning perhaps as an escape route from someone.
Much like the image above, this image displays blur due to the movement of the subject and is the dominant aspect of this image because everything else is still and still sharp, this implies that the photographer here used a tripod/ had his camera on something keeping it very still. This image has a connotation of impatience because even though there is more than likely going to be a gate to get on to the other side of the rails, this subject choose to jump over it, this can create and implied meaning of a careless/reckless teenager.

The studium of this image is the simplicity of it, its of people walking up and down a pair of stairs- this movement has caused the blur of the image. Stairs such as these look like they are leading to/from a train station in London. This raises the connotation of a person being out of place, there is one out of three subjects wearing white jeans and the other two are wearing black, this could be symbolic of the difference between them, alongside this, the two wearing the same colour jeans are walking towards the train station whereas the other subject is choosing to walk away from the train station. However, this image does actually have the denotation of just being people walking up and down the stairs. The photographer here has actually only captured the body and down on the subjects- they have no face and therefore no identity in this case, this may be due to a lack of consent to take the image, or to symbolise  how people can be "outcasted" not because of what they look like but because of their clothes.
