I really like this image because it could be used in a fashion magazine, the model type pose she is standing in. Another reason why I like this image is the focus, the subject is very sharp and clear the main focus of the picture as the background is out of focus. Additionally, there is a contrast with the subject and the location which is really intriguing- she looks like she is all dressed up but the forest setting suggests its autumnal- a time where you would normally wrap up warmer with more layers and more comfortable shoes i.e.. trainers.
I really like the simplicity of this image. The reason for this is because the black of her top ties in with the colour of the doors behind her. Another reason I like this is because the photographer has clearly used a tripod- the lines of the door are straight and central. The way the background is place in the frame is how I hope to take photos of portraits later in this lesson.
The focus is why I like this image because the subject and the post she is leaning on are in focus- these are the foreground, whereas the background is blurred which I like because it puts more focus on the subject- which is the key point of a portrait. This image is also really interesting because it raises questions of why is this woman standing in a dress in what appears to be an abandoned outside room? With this question the viewer is able to create their own stories to join the image- which is hopefully what I can achieve in my photos.
I don't think I'd like to use this image as its formal, however I do like the location this is taken in. Due to her being on the other side of the river, you are able to see more of the buildings than you would have if she was standing right by them. The formal side of this image suggests this person has some power and the viewer may build stories of her being in charge of the building behind her.
This image is very similar to the first image in the terms of it being close to a fashion magazine. I like this image because the subjects whole body is in the frame- which is whatI'm looking for in my location portraits and at the same time you can see how the focus slowly gets more and more distorted as the photo progresses.
I really like how autumnal this image is. The colour of the leaves alone are really beautiful but then we are joined but the multicoloured umbrella the child is holding. She also looks really happy which is a very sweets aspect. People may see this image and wonder- if she is holding an umbrella because it is raining, why is she sat on the floor that would be wet and is still so happy? This is a really pretty photo which I would love to recreate- if it was autumn.
