Shoot Three- Friendships Within Youth Culture- Shoot Analysis

Within this shoot, I intend to experiment different ways in order to show youth friendship. my locations will vary depending on the friendship group I use.
To start with I hope to take two subjects on a train, each wearing different clothes, symbolising a different youth culture, but still being friends. This to start with would counterstereotype the idea that within youth there are different groups. I hope to do this shoot within a train this is because I would be able to capture the raw friendship of my subjects. Even though they will know their photo is being taken, I will not tell them exactly when I will take it, so it will be a candid shot of the friendship. This idea of using the location of a train is influenced by the work of Richard Sandler- who also has taken photographs within this setting. Certain shots in this section I intend to have a symbolic meaning, for the audience to read further into my work, for example having the poles on the train separating the two people showing they are different, yet there body language would suggest they are still friends- suggesting you don't have to be the same to be friends with people.

Another way I intend to experiment this shoot is through different techniques. I hope to take an individual from each "friendship" group- for example a hooded subject. Then take their photo within the studio with either high key lighting or low key lighting- for the example of the hooded subject, I would use low key lighting to symbolically add to the stereotype of being "no good". Then I will take photos of that subject within their  friendship group and place the photographs together. I think this way the audience would be able to gain their own insight of the subject both on their own and in the group. At times, it can be hard to gain an idea of what an youth is like when they are on their own,yet when see as a group, you are able to build a bigger picture.
Another photographer who has influenced me on this shoot is Megan Doherty because she has captured friendship in a raw form- showing candid/ documentary images of people just sat together.
